Contest Countdown!

Greetings, story writers! There are two weeks and one day left until December 31, the last day to turn in a story for the Circle C story-writing contest. So far, I'm excited to see 28 entry forms! Whoo-hoo! However, an entry form is a far cry from the actual story. I have received 11 stories so far, and they have been very fun to read. I'm so glad I'm not one of the judges. They will have a tough time deciding first, second, and honorable mentions.

My grand hope is that those of you who have mailed in entry forms actually have stories to go along with them. I hope you have not overdone yourselves with writing Fan Stories and have no time now to write a contest story. I figured fan stories were fun practice for the big event.

Serious note here: In order to run the contest, I must have at least eight (8) stories for EACH category: 6-9, 10-13, and 14-17. If I don't receive at least that many, that category will not be judged. Sad but true. Right now, the only category that has more than 8 entry forms is ages 10-13. So, get those stories and forms turned in! I SO want to give away $$$ and prizes and make a book of your stories!

  1. Can you write more then one contest story? And would I have to have another entry form?

    1. You may write up to 2 stories. And since I know you have printer issues, you do not have to have another entry form, Janelle. :-) I will just make a copy of the one we already created for the second story. :-)

    2. You'd best work on it, I have the Newkirk brigade on my side so my army will get to you whenever I make the call! :D ;) Hehe, but I bet the girls would side with you just because they like to be ornery to me. :)

  5. But just think, if only four of you girls enter 2 stories each, there will be eight stories. :) You can do it!

    1. I hear you! I have only entered a story-writing contest once, years ago. Writing contests (or even writing!) is not for everyone. :-)

  12. Where can I find an entry form for my 9 yo daughter? Do you think you'll have enough entries for the 6 to 9 yo group? She's already written a pretty neat story :)

    1. So sorry! I updated the blog and since it was the end, I took the contest "page" off, and now I can't get it to re-post. Grrr. If you email me at susankmarlow@gmail.com, I'll attach the PDF file of the form and the contact info, etc. so you can download it.

If you send your DD's story in, I believe that will be enough to run that age group! I so look forward to it!
