Cory's Real Name

Howdy! I will interject an answering post to two readers who would like to know a little trivia about Andi's friend Cory. One asked what Cory's middle name is. Another asked if Cory has a full name, as "Cory" sounds like a nickname.

Cory's real name is Richard Cory Blake.

  1. I'm glad we're clear on the subject! I like Cory better; I'm glad you decided to call him that!

    1. I always called him Cory, and the "Blake" came from the name of the street I used to live on, LOL. I just could "see" someone getting after him and scolding him, and he needed a longer name, hence . . . the "fancy" sounding "Richard." But it would be a good story how he came about to have that name in the story. (My reason was an author's reason).

  2. I wonder why he came to be called Cory instead of Richard or Dick? Is there a story behind that? (Here's an idea for you girls. :) )

    1. And while you're at it, you can all think of how in the world a fancy name like Andrea ended up turning into "Andi." :-)

It would be fun to see the things readers came up with!

    2. I think you already told how Andi got her nickname in a WAY earlier post.
      Remember ;-)
Melinda was delighted to have a younger sister! She now had a friend to dress up with and have tea parties. But alas, that's not what Andi had in mind. Melinda soon found herself climbing trees, fishing, and racing horses. Melinda was complaining to her mother one day, "Andrea is such a tomboy! You should have named her "Andi"! It suits her better. The name stuck.
That's a very rough preview of a post you did a while back. :-)

    1. Which -- knowing Cory --- would be why HE wants everybody to call him Cory too. LOL "RICHARD" seems like a snooty rich boy. LOL
