A Recent Author Interview

I was going to post Part 1 of a new Fan Story today, but this interview just went up this morning, and since it's kind of fun and may answer a lot of questions (plus there is a picture of me, "Rosa," and "Andi" in it, I thought I'd share the link. Let me know what you think! I will post Rebekah E.'s new story bright and early Saturday morning.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW SUSAN MARLOW

p.s. the fun thing about this is that she found me (astonishing) and wanted to interview me!

  1. You said Circle C Milestones instead of Journeys... Did I read that wrong? Or did you change it?

    1. You read my interview! So happy that you did.

Actually, KREGEL changed the name. They apparently did not want Circle C Journeys (sigh), and they came up with "The Heart of Circle C." I told your mom and she said, "It sounds like a Janette Oake book."

Yikes! (another teen told me the same thing in an email! I couldn't believe they both said the same thing). But I thought the same thing too, which only confirmed what I knew deep inside: NO WAY can it be called that. So I expressed my concerns, and they came up with Circle C Milestones. I like that a lot. Now, we are all happy (and relieved). I mean, really, Nathan, would you read an Andi book that was part of a series that had "Heart" in it??? (Don't answer that!).

Did you get the picture I sent you of "Imagination"? I think I will post it here for everybody sometime.

No, I haven't heard of anything about a picture of "Imagination"

  5. Mrs.M,
Nice post. I've been wondering how you keep from procrastinating on your books?
I love writing stories, and am working on a book, but I either procrastinate, or start another book! I once ended up with five unfinished books! How do you do it?

    1. Unfortunately, that was only if they used the name! *sigh* I really liked CCJourneys, too. Kregel came up with Circle C Milestones, so none of us (not even I) get any credit for that one.

    2. Ewwww, GROSS!!!! I'm soo glad they didn't use the Heart of Circle C! When I hear that title, it makes me think that the book is just flowing with love and romance (just my opinion, of course :-).
Circle C Milestones is MUCH better!

    3. Ya think??? Why do you think I nearly had a heart attack when I saw their proposal. That was my very first thought too!

Honestly, I said, "Let's not derail this series before it even gets started. Consider the audience." And . . . I wanted all 3 series to "sound" alike:
      Circle C Beginnings
      Circle C Adventures
      Circle C Milestones

I know we want it to be a little older than the other series, but honestly, the first book takes place about 6 months after Price of Truth, so it's not like Andi is THAT much older. The first book is kind of like a transition book.

Thanks for confirming what I knew in my heart was a bad decision if they went with it. I praise God for my wonderful publisher, who listens to my concerns and takes my suggestions. *thank you Jesus*

    4. Uugg, the Heart of Circle C??? I agree Audrey, it sounds a bit too "romantic and loveydovey" in my opinion. I'm sooo glad they listened to your suggestions and changed it to Circle C Milestones. It fits so perfectly!!!

I can't wait until the new series Mrs. M, I'm very excited and I hope that all goes well with you and yours :D
