Reference Links and Other Good Stuff

Just a reminder . . .
You might be able to find answers to some of your questions by going to the "Andi's Family" and "Andi's Friends" links on the right sidebar to learn little facts and things about the characters. True, there's nothing about the horses in there, but plenty about the human characters.

Also, if you haven't clicked this link to see an overview of how to write a story and you'd like some tips, go here: FIVE ELEMENTS OF A STORY AGES 10 and UP
Or you can look at the one for younger writers: FIVE PUZZLE PIECES OF A STORY

I will compile the horses' names and colors on FRIDAY (I will not worry about picking a specific breed of horse. Mostly I'm interested in colors and names for my stories) and I will put up the poll as soon as I can, but don't look for it until Saturday, because you guys are coming up with so many great ideas that it will take me awhile to sift through the ideas and organize them into a poll.

The poll for the audio books of the CCA is overwhelmingly FOR having me record them. At this point, I will plan on doing that.

  1. Will you post anything else on Saturday?
Will the poll be on the sidebar like the one for the audio books is?
    Just wondering!

    1. I will try to post a fan story on Saturday. :-)
Yes, the poll will be on the sidebar. I will take the Audio poll down, having learned what I needed, and will replace it with the new polls.

    2. Hi Susan! I don't know if you knew if I was back but I left you a comment under the short story writing contest. It is about half-way down the list of comments and I think the longest list of comments from everyone too.

P.S. JESSECA, I LEFT A COMMENT FOR YOU THERE TOO.

  2. I have had my story for the contest written for about two months already! LOL but I'm working on another one just to see if I can think of a better story line. The one I don't send in for the contest I'll send in as a fan story. :)

  5. Hey Susan,
What is the True Grit movie about? It looks like a good movie:-).

    1. It's about a 14-year-old spunky girl who determines to go after the man who killed her father, and make sure justice is served. She "hires" an old marshal, who is a crotechty old guy, and there's a texas ranger in the movie. The old True Grit (from the 1960s) had John Wayne in it. The new one is much better. The background music is hymns! :-)

There's a lot of shooting and she gets kidnapped, but it is the "old west," so what do you expect? Very authentic. I like it way better than the John Wayne version. Here is the movie trailer:

Matt Damon is the TExas Ranger. :-)
Some bad guy gets his fingers cut off.
The girl gets bit by a rattlesnake.

Other than that, just a lot of action and searching for the bad guy. And shooting. :-)

      Susan

  6. Sounds very exciting!I don't mind much when the bad guys get hurt:-). Oh, I like the Rifleman too, I just don't watch it very much. We need more old Westerns.

    1. I love old westerns! Have you guys ever seen Buffalo Bill Jr? It's about this 2o year old boy and his like 12 year old sister that live in the west. It reminds me a lot of Mitch and Andi. Well, he is like all three brothers in one. Loving, funny, kind, understanding, yet he can be, demanding, irritated, afraid for her safety and so forth. It's a must see!

    3. It's a cute show. Other westerns I like are: Daniel Boone, Range Rider, Lone Ranger, Buffalo Bill Jr, Gene Autry, but best of all... Roy Rogers! You don't get better then Roy and his pal Trigger! (that his horse) LOL

    4. I simply ADORE, ADORE, ADORE Trigger. I love palimino horses.

ANDI, I THINK YOU SHOULD ADD IN A PALIMINO AS A COLOR FOR JUSTIN'S HORSE!

    5. Andi's horse Taffy is already a palomino. So I will not have another palomino for Justin's horse. :-)

    1. It takes a day to get into the mountains, like on Trouble with Treasure.

And sure . . . send your entry form whenever. If you can SCAN it, then you can just email it when you email the story. But if you can't scan it (or take a picture with an iPhone of it signed), then mail it. :-)
