Breaking News, Fans!

So, I turned in my book 4 manuscript for Goldtown this week, and then I asked if they had plans to pick up the option for books 5 and 6. Well . . . possibly, but the publisher would like to wait until book 3 comes out (not until November) before deciding.

Do you know what this means, fans? It means that I have a whole bunch of TIME to take a break from thinking up new Goldtown stories and can actually concentrate on putting together a proposal for that new older Andi series you all want me to write. I can maybe even finish up the first book, tentatively titled "The Last Ride."

Can you believe it? It's all thanks to you that I'm even considering doing this. If things go well, I could pitch it to my publisher before the end of the summer. This is quite a shortening of the time line, I have to say.

Was somebody talking to God about this?

  3. This is wonderful news! I'm so glad everything is working out. I didn't talk to God specifically about the older Andi series, but I did thank Him for you and your wonderful books and asked Him to help you with all your up-coming projects and writing. Our Lord is truly awesome! I'm really happy you'll be able to work on the proposal for the older Andi series!

    2. I would so like to, but she lives in Arkansas now! AUGH!
Funny note: When Jessica was 16 (the age I'm going to make her in the new books, to begin with, anyway), she modeled the covers as a 12 year old "Andi." (yes, she looks young). When she was 19, she did the cover for Price of Truth. Can you believe that?

So . . . you'd think I could use some of those for the NEW Andi. But probably not, as I doubt braids are on the agenda. BIG SIGH.

    1. I will probably have a tab for contest entries, but wouldn't post them until the contest winners were announced. And I would have a tab for "winning stories" too, but my goodness! I'm glad i"m not going to be a judge. I have a feeling that there are going to be some really good ones! it would be so hard to choose!

    1. Yes, Bessie, I do have Part 4 written, but I have to spread out the posts just a little bit (I try to post a new one every 3 days, so Friday will be the day for Post 4). If I don't do that (spread them out), then I will run out of things to post. LOL
Actually . . . this Jeffrey story is going to be SIX parts! I'm working on part 6 right now. But I must go do the dishes! So sad . . .

  14. Who is the pic of Chad and Mitch?

    1. Well, it depends on my mood. LOL For a while it was my son, Chad, and then I used a picture from another western, but I needed that one for "Pa" in Goldtown, so lately, I have up a picture I found on my Clip Art Photo disk. I have no clue who it is.
And Mitch . . . well, right now he is from an episode off a western, but I'm not real happy with it. Wish I could find a different one. I'm open to suggestions!

    2. Oh, and I forgot! The picture I like best of Chad (in the Photo album) is of my grandfather back near the turn of the 20th century (the sepia picture/side view).

  20. does the story have to be about Andi?

    1. No, not about Andi specifically, but read this for a better understanding of the CONTENT part of the rules:

Stories must revolve around the characters in the Circle C Adventures books or the Circle C Beginnings books.

Characters from any of the stories may be used as the main character or supporting characters of your story.

You may also create new characters, as long as characters from the series are part of the story in some way.

Any setting in the United States may be used, but it must be historically accurate and set in the same general time period as the stories (from 1874 and upwards.

      Hope that helps!
