Book 5--Cover Contest!

The draft covers for Circle C Adventures Book 5- Andrea Carter and the Trouble with Treasure are here. You can vote for you favorite cover by leaving a comment. Everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a random drawing to win a copy of the new book when it is released late next fall. The lucky winner will also receive a small vial of REAL gold flakes. Why gold flakes? Well, Andi's friend Cory gets hold of an old survey map of the mountains, which shows gold diggings. Together with Andi's older brother Mitch, Andi, her new friend Jenny, and Cory head for the hills. But instead of finding gold, they find a heap of trouble!

Take a look at the covers, and then read the "Rules" below to enter:

Cover #1 (map)

Cover #2 (horse)

~ Leave a comment with your "vote" and why you picked it, along with your E-MAIL address, so I can find you if you win.
~ Invite your friends to join the fun!
That's it! Have fun. Contest ends April 20th.

I like #1, because draws more intention to the book, and it looks like their might be a mystery to the book. The #2 one is too hmm how would I say it...normal or doesn't look interesting.

I like the #2 one because it has Taffy in it and it is far away. The other one is two close up.:)

I like #1 because it depicts looking at a treasure map. I do like having Taffy on the covers as well but I think for the treasure search #1 is fitting. The horses across the top of the cover add a horse element which is good.

Joy was excited to see the covers on my e mail just now. Hopefully she will stop by and vote too. We are both looking forward to reading this book!

I like cover 1 best, because the book is called "Trouble With Treasure", and they're looking at a treasure map. (well, I think its a treasure map!)

I got 5 emails about this contest from you last night and then got the e-zine so I figured that maybe I should go enter. LOL!

I'm going to disobey the rules, and hope you still enter me, because I'm not allowed to put our email address on the internet, and you already know how to contact me. :-)

It would be so fun to win that gold!!!!!! Are you only having one winner?

My daughter and I like #2 because "it's pretty" she says :). One note though - did they sell "Lee" brand overalls back then? Might want to photoshop out that label!

I like cover one as well - the fact that it looks like they are looking at a map (or something indicating they are trying to find their way). You probably were leaning towards #1 as well. Congrats on book 5 coming out soon - see you in the postings - E :)

Oh, I'd love to win this for my daughter who has all the books, so far, read cover to cover and now has her friends reading the series, too!

I would vote for Cover #2 because it has the "horse" on the cover! My daughter and her friends are drawn to the series because they LOVE horses and I would think the visual picture of the horse would draw attention to that aspect.

I'm going to be difficult and say it would be nice to combine the two...looking at the map with Taffy some where in the background or looking over their shoulder. I agree that the map is in keeping with the title, but there are so many kids that love horses, I think Taffy needs to be in there. So I'm reluctantly voting for #2...I like it better, but it's a shame the kids couldn't have been looking at the map in #2. You know my email addy so I'm not going to post it publicaly here. Miralee

Definitely #2...I like the map in #1, but how can we have a cover without Taffy???? Keep the books coming (isn't God gooood?) We love Andi.

I totally agree with Miralee--I was actually going to write almost the exact same thing until I read through the comments first! I like cover 2 better for the picture (I love horses) but the map on cover 1 ties in with the theme of the book. I actually even thought maybe have a treasure chest on the cover (maybe having Andi holding a small one??) which kids would identify with more with'treasure'.

Just curious, on the cover of Family Secret the horse is brown, on SF Smugglers it's tanish color. Which is Taffy, or did someone make a mistake in the color of the horse on one of the covers?

I have to add that I have read all 5 of these books for review and have enjoyed every one. I highly recommend them as wholesome stories for anyone and not just kids.

God bless and Happy Easter.

Susan, I like cover #2 the best. I like it because it has Andi, Taffy, and Cory. Cover #1 just doesn't look that interesting to me because you can't really tell they are looking at a treasure map.

I like cover 2 with the horse. It looks more like an adventure to me. I couldn't tell initially looking at cover 1 that it was a map they were looking at. Both covers are very nice though. Either one is a winner!

I choose the first cover because: 1. They are looking at a treasure/survey map (which is in the book). 2. Andi and Cory look like they're in the middle of an adventure. I don't like the second cover as much because: 1. It seems irrelevant. 2. Andi and Cory seem to just be relaxing.

From reading all the posts I had to chuckle when I realized even having only 2 choices to choose from is very subjective as I read the comments why people chose as they did.

Have a blessed Easter.

I like horses. I would be drawn to the cover that had a horse on it and in this case, Taffy, because I really like the story line you have created. I would pick cover 2....one could visualize they are all looking "toward" the direction they think the treasure is and with their smiles, kind of a "we found it!" attitude! I would love to have the gold flakes as I have spent and enjoyed learning about History and the early panning days. This will be the closest I ever get to real gold! Bless you for your efforts in this series! Felicia Straley straleyw@msn.com

We like book cover #2 because all books that have horses in them really need the lovely horse on the front. It entices young readers to pick up the book and check it out. It is an eye catcher for so many...
You may get new readers for that reason alone. I've seen it!

#2 Definitely... How can you go wrong with placing a horse on the front of the book, it looks so much more adventurous. I think the first cover looks to personal, too cozy for some readers. It looks more like a love story than a horse story...

I like #2 best. The second cover is a nice picture of the kids but most of all it has a great horse shot. Kids looking for a story of this style are really drawn by the image of a horse. I don't really care for the drawing of the kids in the first cover.
